Andrea Joan Bontrager, MA, LCSW, LMSW, is passionate about helping adults, families, and children achieve their mental health and healing goals.

Andrea’s therapeutic style is client-centered, using a mixed-methods and adaptive approach tailored to your unique needs and goals. She integrates evidence-based techniques such as Mindfulness, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Conflict Transformation, Mediation, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as aspects of Somatic Therapy.

With Masters degrees from Colorado State University and SIT Graduate Institute, she holds a certification in TF-CBT, and completed extensive training in EMDR and Neurologic Music Therapy. Andrea brings over 15 years of experience as a mental health therapist. She has been nominated for awards such as “Values in Action” and “Clinical Excellence.” Andrea also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand from 2005 to 2007, an experience that further deepened her commitment to helping others.

In her free time, Andrea enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time in nature—whether in forests or on beaches. She loves playing piano, guitar, and drums, singing, listening to music, yoga, meditation, practicing mindful movement, trying new things, travel, and exploring life’s curiosities. She also treasures moments with her family, friends, and her beloved pets.
